“Open Arms Hug” Day Care Center for children with Developmental Disabilities is located in Koropi and serves the east suburbs of Athens.

It has been operating since January 2007 under the PSYCHARGOS program and is part of the Non-Profit Organization of the Friends of Social Pediatrics and Medicine “Open Arms Hug”.

The Day Care Center runs on weekdays and its services are provided for FREE. The staff consists of a full scientific team (child psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, speech therapist, occupational therapist, nurse). The children are 4 – 12 years old and have diagnosed with developmental disorders.


Up today, Day Care Center has served 120 families.
This year 42 families attend treatment programs.

The program includes:

  • Child psychiatric assessment and monitoring
  • Individual sessions with a psychologist
  • Special treatments (speech therapy, occupational therapy, sensory integration, rehabilitation of learning disorders)
    • Parents counseling
    • Alternative therapies (music therapy, visual arts)
